What it is
MyinTuition is a Wellesley-developed tool that, in only three minutes, provides a personalized estimate of what it would cost an individual to attend college.
Prospective students benefit from MyinTuition, especially the vast majority of college-ready students for whom the “sticker price” of college is far beyond their means. MyinTuition demonstrates that even a top private college is accessible to qualified low- and middle-income students—and might be their most affordable option. It helps prospective students understand what college will truly cost after incorporating other factors, such as financial aid, loan and work study expectations, grant assistance and scholarships, and more.
Why it matters
Wellesley’s innovative tool has great potential to jump-start economic mobility by helping to address the problem of undermatching, which is when too few low- and middle-income students apply to top schools, even when they qualify for admission, because they assume they do not have the financial resources needed to attend.
How it works
Based on answers to just six basic questions, MyinTuition estimates the cost of college for each individual student, including out-of-pocket costs, available loans and work-study opportunities, and grant assistance. The tool is easy to use and more straightforward than the typical net price calculator.
